Hey guys! I did a poll on Instagram last week asking what you all would be most interested in seeing, and skincare routine won. So here we are 🤗 Before we jump into it I want to make a disclaimer. I am not a dermatologist or skin expert, so what I suggest may not work for you. I highly recommend doing research on not only your skin type, but the ingredients in the products you are interested in trying out. Everyone’s skin is different and unfortunately there is no one set routine that will work universally.

As I mention in the video, I have dry/combination skin. I am also acne prone which means I need to be careful what I put on my face.
When I turned 21 my skin went insane! I started getting painful, red cystic acne on my cheeks, chin, and nose area. I was trying tons of products in which none of them worked! So, I took a step back & figured out that I just needed to simplify things. There’s no reason I should be using a Clarisonic & an exfoliator. Or an anti aging serum and pore refining serum. There comes a point where it’s just too much.
That is how I came to have only 9 products in my routine! 3 of which I don’t even use everyday, so I guess you could say it’s a 6 step routine. 😍
Let’s break it down step by step.
- Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes 50 ct. $8.97
Best makeup wipes I’ve ever used! They remove all makeup including glitter, red lips, and waterproof mascara. Need I say more?!
- Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash $8.99
I only use this after a heavy makeup or *sweaty* day. Being an acne wash, it has acne medicine that strips skin of natural oils. Unfortunately I have dry skin and acne, so I have to limit the amount I use this product, but it seems to be working great!
- Cetaphil Extra Gentle Daily Scrub $7.94
I use this 3-4 x a week. Again, don’t want to dry my skin out. But I love the fact you can’t feel the granules scraping your face. It’s a yes from me!
- Garnier Micellar Water $6.89
This product is a must for anyone who wears makeup. After cleansing, saturate a cotton pad with this stuff & just see all the dirt that was left behind! Don’t believe me? It’s science! The micelles act like a vacuum & lift all that oil and dirt right out of your skin!
- Keep Your Balance Hydrating Toner $8
This toner does contain alcohol, but it has not been drying on my skin whatsoever. Actually, it’s brought moisture to my face and evened out my skin tone.
- Nourishing Facial Oil $10
1 droplet per use is all you need! Not sticky, or even super oil. It is so refreshing.
- Ponds Hydrating Dry Skin Cream $6.89
Hands down the best drug store moisturizer I’ve ever used. My skin feels and looks super glowy and plump all day!
- Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream $12
I got this for the lines under my eyes as well as much needed hydration. I don’t use it often enough to see results on my fine lines, but it is so good at moisturizing. Makeup looks great on top of it too.
- Clean & Clear AdvantageSpot Treatment $6.47
I love this stuff for when I can feel a zit coming on. A teeny amount goes a long way. It can also be super drying because of the acne medicine, so I try to use it when there’s an emergency.
& that is all. Literally.
Skin care is so important to me, so I try to stay up to date on the best products. With a lot of trial and error I have come up with a routine that works for my skin right now. The human body is crazy though so this may change again in 3 months! Who knows!
If you have skin care products you can’t live without, please let us know! We love trying new things!
